Sports rig Development sail

Designed by Glenn Ashby, the brief of this project was to allow lighter sailors the chance to take advantage of our wonderful boat, without being overwhelmed by the standard rig.

Aimed primarily at youth and/or female skippers, it has also extended the careers of our some of our more experienced sailors.

The Sport sail uses the same rig set up as the standard rig, so swapping between the two is simple! It goes like a rocket upwind and with less sail area in the head, it is more forgiving downwind.

The Association has two test sails available to use. Simply contact either the Vic or NSW State Rep and they will get you sorted!
